About Topic
Topic was not built in a single moment. It was built in a hundred years of decisions,
to stay focused on what the business does well.
Our Story
The story begins on the island of Vis in 1890, when Ante Topic founded the first shipping company alongside his son Serafin.
Through wars, nationalisation, and eleven company incarnations across changing political systems, the Ant. Topic agency in Trieste has operated continuously for over a hundred years, and through the Albertini family, that journey continues today.
A reputation takes 30 years to build, and 30 seconds to destroy.

Leadership
Leadership at Topic is not defined by hierarchy. It is defined by stewardship.
These are the people who have inherited something worth protecting and are actively building what comes next. This is long-term thinking, and responsibility held across generations, not a title.
Not the helm of a company, but the core of a hundred-year name.
How We Work
Our values are not statements on a wall.
They are decisions made daily, on vessels, in ports, in partnerships, across generations.
Family
This business was built in the context of family, and that shapes how responsibility is held. Decisions here are made with the long view in mind, not the next quarter.
Values
Our legacy is the cornerstone of our family-oriented management, embracing loyalty and fairness towards our stakeholders. We never compromise on quality.
Vision
Together we sail towards a sustainable future.
Mission
As an organisation we strive to achieve excellence via continuous improvement and innovation, to deliver our service mindful of the best practices of our industry, thanks to the dedication and loyalty of our staff ashore and onboard.
Trust
Trust is earned over time and protected with consistency. We do not ask for it. We demonstrate it.
Responsibility
To our crew, to our partners, to the sea, and to what comes after us. We take this seriously. It is written into every decision we make.
Excellence
We do fewer things than we could. We do them very well. That discipline is not a limitation. It is the standard.
The Legacy · 100 Years
This centennial marks not an end, but the beginning of a new chapter. Ahead lie uncharted seas and unseen horizons. With an experienced crew, the strength of a reliable ship, and the same guiding principles, we continue to sail grateful for the voyage so far, and optimistic for the voyages yet to come.
